This class is offered periodically and is a requirement for membership in Unity of Nanaimo.  The class explores the fundamental beliefs and teachings of Unity (we want to make sure you know what you're getting into!) as well as the structure and governance of Unity Worldwide Ministries, Unity Canada and Unity of Nanaimo along with an overview of the history of the Unity Movement, the rights and responsibilities of membership and is an opportunity to get to know some of the Board of Trustees and key volunteers. These courses may be taken for personal spiritual growth or for credit towards Licensed Unity Teacher/Ministerial accreditation.

This course explores some of Unity's fundamental Principles as well as the highest form of mind action, prayer. Students will be encouraged to awaken awareness and understanding of spiritual Truth in order to employ it in every liffe.
Course Learning Objectives
1.  Articulate and use Unity's affirmative prayer process
2.  Explain the significance of the Silence and meditaton and their relationship to each other
3.  Compare Unity's view and the tradition view of Divine Purpose, Will, Plan & Guidance
4.  Illustrate some of the key aspects and processes of building consciousness
5.  Differentiate the Absolute Realm from the relative realm, including the analysis of Cause and Effect/cause and effect
6.  Explain the essential concept, "Life is conscioueness" and its relationship to self-awareness and self-knowledge

February 26, March 5, 12 & 19 & 26
This course explores some of the more complex metaphysical concepts such as Oneness and creation, as well as the unity perspective on terminology that is commonly used by much of mainstream Christianity.  In the process, aspects of students' embedded theology are exposed and Unity teaching are clarified. Practical application is the primary goal.
Course Learning objectives
1  Compare and contrast the student's curent view of God with Unity's view of "God"
2. Differentiate between who you are and what you are
3. Compare and contrast Jesus, Christ, Jesus Christ and Christ Jesus
4.  Synchronize the three phases of mind with humankind's threefold nature

April  16, 23, 30, May 7 & 14
This course identifies basic metaphysical tools for living. Students will be encouraged to investigate, analyze and usE these tools to cultivate dominion over the ego/personality and to express more of their innate Divine Potential.
Course learning objectives
1.  Identify the four functions of consciousness and gives examples from life
2.  Examine and interrelate the Word, thought/feeling and denials & affirmations
3.  Identify and discuss each of the Twelve Powers and give examples

May 28, June 4, 11, 18 & 25
This advanced course summarizes and organizes metaphysical teachings so that Truth may be demonstrated in life. Through the consisent use of these practical principles the students will consciously transform their own lives and realize more of their spiritual potential.
Course learning objectives
1.  Survey the blocks and keys to demonstration, and determine which are affecting areas of experience and demonstration
2. Create and implement a metaphysical demonstration plan
3.  Explain the metaphysical basis of Wholeness and Health
4.  Explain the metaphysical basis of prosperity
